How Do I Get to the Farm Ride?

There are two ways to get to (and from) The Farm Ride -- by taking our optional round-trip transportation for your bike and you from NYC, or on your own.

Info on taking our transportation is immediately below; for info on getting to the ride on your own, scroll down a bit.

TAKING OUR TRANSPORTATION TO THE FARM RIDE

We offer optional round-trip transportation from Manhattan to The Farm Ride for your bike and you.

Transportation in 15-passenger vans (except that we never put more than 11 people in a 15-passenger van so you have more room). Of course we will stop for bathroom breaks whenever you want. (Don't be shy about asking for a bathroom break... said the guy who always wants more bathroom breaks than anyone else...)

We do not provide food during the trip, but please feel free to bring your own, and of course you can purchase food at the bathroom breaks.

If you want to use our transportation, just sign up for it during registration. We’ll send you complete details as we get closer to ride day, but here are the basics:

WARNING -- Advance registration for our optional transportation is VITAL.  We’ll do our best, but we can NOT guarantee that we’ll have a spot for you unless you let us know in advance.

WHERE TO MEET:

Between W. 34th and W. 35th Street on the east side of 12th Avenue, BEHIND the Javits Center.

Click here for information on how to get home from the Farm Ride.

If you are staying in the Standard Dorms, please go to the Deluxe Dorms -- North Dorm C first (see info above). Check in there, and they will direct you on how to get to the Standard Dorms, which are very close by.

If you are staying in the Campus Center Hotel, click here for directions on how to get there, or set your GPS for:

Commonwealth Avenue & Campus Center Way

Amherst, MA

When you get to this location, you will see a sign directing you to the Campus Center garage.

WARNING!

If you are driving yourself to the ride, read this carefully.

There are several places to park on campus -- details in the directions, above. IF you choose to park in the underground Campus Center Garage, and IF you have your bike on a rack mounted on the roof of your car, your bike will NOT fit inside this low-ceiling garage, which means that as you enter the garage you will destroy your bike, rip the roof off of your car, or maybe both!  (Email us any cool bike/car/garage destruction photos and we’ll post them here!)  If you have your bike on a trunk rack (on the back of your car) you should have no problems, BUT... it is up to you to check carefully to avoid damage.

WHEN:

We offer two different departures from NYC to The Farm Ride -- your choice:

Trip #1

Starts Loading: Friday August 2nd at 7:00 a.m.

Leaves NYC: Friday August 2nd at 8:00 a.m. sharp

Bikes from the 8:00 a.m. run will be unloaded when we arrive in Amherst in case you want to ride on Friday.

Trip #2
