Quick Start Guide

Electronic gadgets often come with a Quick Start Guide, also known as, “If you won’t read the instruction manual, at least read this one page, you lazy bum, before you break something.”

SO... one of our riders gave us this great idea: A Quick Start Guide. If you don’t want to read all of this lovely yet annoying web site, here’s the minimum you need to know to have fun on the ride*

When Is the Ride?

You can do one, two, or all three days -- your choice:

Friday August 10th - Optional early arrival day

7:00 a.m.

If you are taking our morning transport from NYC to The Farm Ride meet us at:

W. 33rd Street between 11th Ave & 12th Ave/Manhattan

Look for our vans and bike truck.

We depart at 8:00 a.m. sharp, so don't be late!

You should be dresssed, fed, with your bike and luggage, ready to go.

We will stop along the way for bathroom breaks and snacks, of course.

3:00 p.m.

There's a leisurely 17-mile ride this day to get ice cream.

Meet at 3 p.m. in front to The Deluxe Dorms with your bike, tires pumped, dressed, ready to ride.

Pay for your own ice cream; otherwise this ride is free.

5:30 p.m.

If you are taking our afternoon transport from NYC to The Farm Ride meet us at:

W. 33rd Street between 11th Ave & 12th Ave/Manhattan

Where is the Start/Finish Line? How Do I Get There?

All of the rides throughout Farm Ride weekend start and finish in the same place:

North Dorm C (The Deluxe Dorms, where many Farm Ride cyclists stay)

N Residential Drive

University of Massachusetts

Amherst, MA.

North Dorm C is shown on the map below by the red marker.

Using your GPS? Set it for:

811 N. Pleasant Street

Amherst, MA

This is NOT the address of the Deluxe Dorms, but if you follow your GPS to that address and look up the hill, you'll see North Dorm C.

Whether you're staying in the dorms or just driving in for the day, you can park for free in Lot 44 -- just north of the dorms on the map below.
